Jose Luis Silva
Prior to the creation of DUX Capital, Jose Luis was a corporate and investment banker in HSBC Mexico’s Global Banking Team. He was part of the HSBC team for almost eight years, starting as one of the team’s first interns, to become the banker responsible for the Pharmaceutical and Chemical sector, managing and developing over 43 elite clients on a multinational scale. Jose Luis participated in pioneer and strategic transactions within the areas of Mergers and Acquisitions, Debt and Capital Markets, Structured Financing and Treasury for AAA clients such as Grupo Bimbo, Coca-Cola Femsa, Empresas ICA, Grupo Televisa, El Puerto de Liverpool, El Palacio de Hierro, Siemens, Bayer, BASF, Lafarge, & Novartis, amongst others. Jose Luis studied an MBA in Madrid’s Instituto de Empresa (i.e. Business School) specializing in Venture Capital and Private Equity and completed a joint program with Singapore Management University. Additionally, he has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico City. As an entrepreneur, Jose Luis has founded three Startups; one in the recycling industry (which earned him a scholarship for his MBA), another as a boutique firm for Investment Banking for SMEs (which merged with DUX Capital), and ultimately, a Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Lab. As part of DUX Capital, Jose Luis spearheads the group’s investor relations and finances as well as the creation and analysis of valuation models for portfolio investments.
